AirBnB has AirCover which is intended to protect the guest and the host. What about when you book direct, what protects you? As a host, I want my guests to feel confident when they book directly with me that they are protected.
Once while on vacation, I had the opposite happen. Our four kids were between the ages of 3-9 and staying in a really nice rental. We decided to let them have as much juice as they wanted! Hey, it’s VACAY Baby!!!! One kid has a sensitive stomach and drank more than he could handle. Later that night, already digested, red liquid came back up on the pristine white sheets and blankets of our rental. I nervously had to call the host, tell them what happened, and then pay damages. It stunk!
I would have loved for the host to say – “No problem things like this happen and you are already covered. Enjoy the rest of your vacation. I hope your son feels better soon.” But the host didn’t say this. I ended up paying for a new set of very expensive bedding.
SOMETHING BETTER
