At Cooper Landing Lodge (cabin rentals), we’re excited to share the nearly completed updates to our Black Bear and Brown Bear Cabins. Originally built nearly 50 years ago, these cabins have been thoughtfully modernized so you can enjoy the best of both rustic charm and modern convenience.
Revamping the Brown Bear Cabin
The Brown Bear cabin has seen some significant changes—especially in the bathroom area. For years, the jetted spa tub was a signature feature, but after a decade of disuse and less-than-ideal performance (think gurgling noises and odd burping sounds), we decided it was time for an upgrade. In the fall of 2024, we transformed the cramped bathroom by removing the tub and expanding the space into what now accommodates 1.5 bathrooms!
What’s new in the Brown Bear cabin bathroom?
- A modern, spacious shower that enhances functionality
- An elegant fossilized wood sink and a sleek toilet in the main bathroom
- A convenient half-bath to keep things moving smoothly during busy mornings
Transforming the Black Bear Cabin
Our Black Bear cabin, with its history of different owners and renovations, has also received a well-deserved makeover. Here’s a glimpse into the improvements:
- Optimized Living Spaces: The original layout had small bedroom to accommodate a wood-burning stove. When the stove was removed long ago, the bedroom remained small. Now, the entrance to the bathroom has been relocated to better suit the modern vacation home layout, allowing the bedroom to comfortably fit a queen bed.
- Revitalized Kitchen: After extensive demo work and rearranging, the kitchen now features a reconfigured layout that allows you to open your drawers fully and enjoy a tiny dishwasher—perfect for a stress-free vacation.
- Expanded Bedroom: The updates have not only created a larger, more inviting bedroom but also added a separate entrance to the bathroom, giving you more space and privacy.
